You know how, back on Saturday, I wondered whether Chicago area residents were going to flock to Indiana Dunes beaches during the Memorial Day weekend? The CBS2 Chicago news report I saw last night suggests that the answer is yes.

I've been to the top of Mount Baldy, the tallest and the most iconic dune of the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore, two times - once back in October 2010 and once in February of 2012. I would have come back more often but, a year later, a young kid fell through the hole that mysteriously opened up while playing on Mount Baldy. He survived, but the ( Read more... )

Back in 2013, Mount Baldy, the biggest dune in the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore, was closed to the public after a freak accident nearly got a kid killed. Last weekend, my mom, Anna, Anna's husband and I took nata-for and her family, as well as some of my mom's friends/underlings from works, to Indiana Dunes, to enjoy Beverly Shores' lovely Lake View beach.
